Scanning a document using the Notes app

• On your iPhone or iPad device, locate the Notes app icon and tap on it.
• Now, the Notes app will open on your iPhone or iPad device.
• Tap the New Note icon available at the bottom right corner of the app screen.
• Select the Camera option to begin the scan operation.
• Locate and tap the Scan Document option.
• Now, place the document on a table or stable area. 
• If the scan setting is set in Auto mode, the placed document will be scanned automatically by the app. Otherwise, you have to tap the Shutter button to scan the placed document manually.
• Similarly, scan all the pages of the document.

How To Mark Up A Scanned Document On Iphone And Ipad

“Do you want to add extra text or your signature to the scanned document?” If yes, follow the below instructions to mark up the scanned document on iPhone/ iPad.

• Open the Notes app if it is closed.
• On the main screen, locate and tap on the scanned document image to open it.
• Now, the preview window of the scanned document will open.
• In the opened window, tap the Share icon followed by Markup. 
• Locate the Tool option and tap on it. 
• Select the desired color followed by the “Text,” “Signature,” “Magnifier,” or “Shape” option to mark up the scanned document.
• Mark the scanned document using the selected preferences.
• Finally, tap Done > Done. 

How To Save A Scanned Document As A Pdf

As said above in the introduction, you can scan and save the document as a PDF file on your iPhone/iPad using the Notes app. The following instructions explain the same.

• Open the scanned document on the Notes app screen.
• Tap the Share icon followed by App.
• Choose the app that you wish to save that scanned document as a PDF file.
• Configure the save settings, and finally, tap the Save button.

Like saving the scanned document as a PDF, you can also share the scanned document with another device. Follow the below instructions to share the scanned document on iPhone and iPad using the Notes app.

• Open the scanned document and tap the Share icon.
• Now, a list of apps that supports file sharing will pop up on the screen.
• Select the app that you wish to use for sharing the scanned document from the list.
• Choose the file format as PDF.
• Tap Share.

• Open Notes.
• Select the scanned document that you want to delete.

• Tap Trash > Delete Scan.
